Reshma Bhat was born in 1988 and is a native of Murooru, a small village of Kumta Taluk in Uttara Kannada District, Karnataka. Reshma was introduced to Hindustani music by her parents Smt. Asha Bhat and Shri Ramachandra Bhat. She is gifted with a sonorous voice with rare delicacy. Reshma has been blessed with the profound guidance of Dr. Ashok Huggannavar, a renowned Hindustani vocalist, who accepted her as his disciple at the tender age of 10.

Reshma is a “A” grade artist in Light Classical music and “A” grade artist in Hindustani Classical Music and performs regularly for the All India Radio Dharwad.

 Reshma is a graduate in Computer Science and has completed her M.Tech in Geoinformatics from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka. She was a scholar of ITC Sangeeth Research Academy, Kolkata, under the guidance of Vidushi Shubhra Guha.

  • First prize in National level music competition organised by Sangeeta Bharati Foundation, Manglore(2008).
  • First  Prize in All India Radio Music competition (2004).
  • Scholarship from Karnataka Sangeeta Nrutya Acadamy(2002-03).
  • First prize in State level Hindustani vocal competition held by Dr.Mallikarjun Mansur National Memorial Trust,Dharwad(2002-03).
  • First prize in State Level Hindustani classical Vocal competion organised by Sangeetha Bharathi Trust, Kundapura,Karnataka (2000).
